The Jery Sweet Rush Basket
Is a basket that consist of two styles coming together like a marriage to form one. Mrs. Taylor has been doing the Mount Pleasant style of which is consist of sweet grass, pine needles and palmetto. They didn’t use bulrush in their baskets in the early years. It was because of the scarcity of sweet grass that caused them to use bulrush. Mrs. Taylor personally likes the color and the strength of it. When Darryl Murphy was doing a project for his mentor he asked her to do this for the encyclopedia.
The African Heritage and Cultural Encyclopedia was published in 2015. This encyclopedia is in every library in the US, Asia and Europe.
